Linda

Volunteering gives me the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and makes me feel connected to the community, besides learning new things along the way.

My passion is gardening, therefore my volunteering life mostly revolves around working in gardens.

Being a volunteer gardener at Harefield Healing Garden is a joy. As well as helping to keep the garden looking good for patients, staff and their families, it also improves my own mental wellbeing.  I can forget the stresses and strains of everyday life and find enjoyment in gardening. One of the benefits of working in Harefield Healing Garden is having the opportunity to interact with patients, staff and families. Sometimes it’s a quick smile and hello and other times it’s a longer time to chat.  Either way, it’s enjoyable. For me, volunteering is a win win situation.
